ORION News PCMG MEETING - JANUARY 2005 The Pharmaceutical Contract Management Group (PCMG) is a professionally constituted body dedicated to optimising the outsourcing performance of its members and their companies. The PCMG holds a number of seminars for its members throughout the year; the seminars provide fantastic opportunities for knowledge sharing for outsourcing professionals, as well as plenty of time for informal networking and discussions. ORION was pleased to sponsor the first PCMG meeting of 2005, which was held in London on the 18th January. The theme of the meeting was CRO Evaluation. The agenda included a variety of talks from representatives of the PCMG member companies, as well as ORION. ORION’s representatives Peter MacLennan, Director of Project Development, and Elena Smith, Director of Project Management gave talks on ‘CRO Selection from the CRO Perspective’ and ‘Team Building Between the Sponsor and the CRO’ respectively. The meeting provided the ideal forum in which to discuss the most effective ways in which to evaluate CROs, and it was clearly beneficial to have opinions from both sides of the fence!
